FREE Aquatic Invasive Species Talk @ REI Reno – Sept. 26, 2012

Protect Your Local Waters…..Prevent the Spread of Aquatic Invasive Species!

Calling all boaters, anglers, paddlers, swimmers and water-lovers! Do your part to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species! Asian clams, zebra & quagga mussels and invasive weeds like Eurasian water milfoil are just a few of the plants and critters that currently threaten your local waters.

These pests could cost millions to the local economy and irreparably damage our environment, affecting everyone in the region.  The Tahoe Resource Conservation District (Tahoe RCD) works with dozens of partner organizations and agencies to protect Lake Tahoe and the Truckee River watershed by implementing programs aimed to prevent and control the spread of aquatic invasive species.

The Tahoe RCD will share information about these species, how they are easily spread and how we can prevent and minimize their damage on Sept. 26, 2012 from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the REI in Reno, NV .

Please sign up HERE to learn how YOU can make a difference!
